RAYMOND – Hinds Community College men's soccer will look to continue their previous success on Friday when they kick-off the
Robert Gardner era against Gulf Coast in Vicksburg Wednesday night.
In 2021, the Eagles, led by retired coach Doug Williams, finished with a 7-7-1 record and finished in the Region 23 semifinals for the second consecutive year.
Returners
Hinds will return six players from last year's roster, all playing significant minutes in 2021. Those players include
Gavin Gaudin (Flowood),
Noah Hinkle (Madison),
Jovan Mihajlovic (Serbia),
Dorian Allen (Terry),
Dylan Harrigill (Jackson) and
Tyler Ivory (Vicksburg).
Hinkle, Mihajlovic, Allen and Harrigill all received postseason honors after the 2021 season.
Newcomers to watch
The Eagles bring in several talented newcomers who are poised to make an immediate impact. Those names include João Pereira (Portugal),
Sonny Bizure (North Billerica, Ma.),
Tony King (Vicksburg) and
Blake Primos (Flowood).
