RAYMOND – To open the 2022-2023 season, Hinds Community College golf placed sixth at the Northeast Invitational Tuesday after shooting 39 over par. The Eagles were sitting in the three spot after the first day of the tournament.
Leading the charge was James Lambert, who shot eight over after his two rounds. Lambert shot a whopping three under, which included seven birdies, in his opening round.
Hartley Sullivan shot a 78 (+6) in both rounds of the invitational. In his second round, Sullivan overcame two double bogeys to go one-under on the back nine.
Jordon Jeffries finished with an opening round 75 (+3) on Monday and an 81 in the final round Tuesday.
Vlad Rowell, the only returner from the 2021-2022 squad, birdied two holes on the back nine of his opening round to shoot a 74 (+2). Rowell finished his final round at eleven over to move to thirteen over on the weekend.
Colin Stringer opened the invitational with an 81 (+9) and improved to a 77 (+5) in his second round, finishing at fourteen over on the weekend.
