MERIDIAN, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's Golf team turned in a strong performance at the Lou Hart Invitational, finishing third overall after two rounds of competition at Northwood Country Club.
The Eagles showed steady improvement throughout the event, posting a first-round score of +12 before responding with a much cleaner +2 in the second round to finish at +14 as a team. The bounce-back round helped Hinds secure a podium finish in a competitive field that featured several nationally ranked programs.
Individually, Hinds was led by
Christopher Cain, who delivered a consistent tournament to finish at 68 overall. Cain highlighted his performance with a solid second round, helping anchor the Eagles' lineup.
Stephen Faucheaux followed closely behind, finishing at 69 for the tournament, while
Cole Baglione added a strong showing with a 72. The trio provided Hinds with reliable scoring across both rounds and played a key role in the team's top three finish.
Trevor Antley and
Jarrett Pettis rounded out the scoring group for the Eagles, each contributing important rounds, while Noah competed as an individual and gained valuable experience against a strong field. Mississippi Gulf Coast claimed the team title, with host Meridian Community College finishing second, just ahead of Hinds.
Hinds will return to action on April 12 for the first round of the MACCC Championship, which will be hosted by Southwest Mississippi CC in Brookhaven.
