Box Score UTICA, Miss. - The Hinds Community College Women's Basketball team outlasted Baton Rouge Community College 84-79 in double overtime inside J.D. Boyd Gymnasium on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, Hinds moves to 10-4 on the season. 

Hinds and BRCC exchanged buckets in the opening quarter of play, but the visitors held the 16-14 advantage going into the second quarter. The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 30-23 going into the halftime break. 

Hinds fought back and took the one-point advantage going into the final quarter of regulation. In the fourth, Hinds and Baton Rouge went back-and-forth and when the buzzer went off the score was tied at 62 to force overtime.  Each team scored 10 points in the overtime period, which forced another 5:00 on the clock. In the second overtime period, Hinds was the stronger team taking the 84-79 victory. 

Myan Barthelemy led the Lady Bulldogs with 27 points, five assists, and seven rebounds. Amiyah Simpkins had a career night posting 18 points and five rebounds, while Jesi Jenkins finished the game with a double double  (12 points, 10 rebounds). Myla Harbor finished the game with 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals in the win, while Lamaria Jones totaled eight points and eight rebounds. Brooklyn Harris concluded the contest with five blocks.

Hinds will return to action on Thursday, January 9th at 1:30 PM against Southwest Mississippi CC inside J.D. Boyd Gymnasium in a non-conference matchup.
