JACKSON, Miss. – A couple of Hinds Community College Softball players earned All-MACCC honors following a stellar sophomore campaign. Shortstop
Melissa Lopera was named to the All-MACCC Second team, while
Maddie Bruner picked up a spot on the All-MACCC Honorable Mention team.
Arguably the best shortstop in the MACCC,
Melissa Lopera put up some big numbers in her final season with the Lady Eagles. Lopera led Hinds in nearly every offensive category with .385 BA, 1.077 OPS, 50 Hits, 14 Doubles, .662 SLG%, and a .415 OB%. Additionally, she was in the top 15 in the MACCC with her .385 batting average. Over the course of her career, she hit .330 and posted 88 hits in 89 games played.
Bruner split time at 1
st base and at catcher for the Lady Eagles during the 2025 season. The sophomore from Brandon finished the year with a .333 batting average, 1.025 OPS, 43 hits, and lead the team with 10 homeruns and 34 RBI. Additionally, she was T-9
th in the MACCC with her 10 homeruns.
