JCJC defeats Lady Bulldogs on Monday evening

Hillary Kemp (23) had 18 points on Monday vs JCJC

Despite a valiant effort and 23-point fourth quarter, the Hinds Community College women's basketball team was unable to pick up a much needed victory on Monday night, falling 74-68 to Jones County Junior College in Utica.
 
Hillary Kemp (Bay Springs) led all scorers on Monday night, dropping in 18 points and collecting three rebounds and two steals to lead Hinds (7-9 overall and 1-6 in the South division).
 
Annessia Durham (Utica) had 12 points and seven rebounds, while Adrianna Kemp (Bay Springs) had 11 points and a team-leading seven rebounds versus JCJC.
 
The Lady Bulldogs did pick up their first win in the South division on Thursday, Jan. 21, as Hinds won at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, 66-57.
 
Kaletreon Baker (Magnolia) had 17 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs in the division win.
 
Hillary Kemp had 12 points and three rebounds in the inaugural conference victory for first-year head coach Tomekia Reed.
 
Hinds returns home on Thursday night, hosting Co-Lin Community College at 5:30 p.m. at J.D. Boyd Gym in Utica.
