RAYMOND- The Hinds Community College Eagles baseball team has released their fall practice schedule which will begin on September 17 following the previous weekend's MACJC Sophomore Showcase.
 
Each fall, the Hinds baseball program hosts the annual MACJC Sophomore Showcase in which sophomores or second year players from the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) come to Joe G. Moss Field to participate in a pro-style workout. The event features a number of four-year universities and professional baseball scouts seeking to add junior college talent. The showcase will take place on September 14 and September 15 in Raymond and run from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days.
 
The following Monday (Sept. 17) will mark the beginning of the Hinds baseball program's fall practice season which features six weeks of full-team practice. The practice period will feature a number of intrasquad scrimmages that are open to the public and to be played at Joe G. Moss Field in Raymond with the scrimmages taking place tentatively every Tuesday and Friday throughout the fall practice period. The first intrasquad scrimmage is scheduled for September 18. A full list of fall playing dates will be listed at the end of this article.
 
The fall will also feature a few games against outside competition over four dates. The first of these exhibition games will be played October 2 at Smith-Wills Stadium beginning at 10 a.m. featuring a double header against Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) and Southwest Mississippi Community College. The Eagles will then play October 5 at the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) with the Eagles playing a double header against Panola College and Tyler Junior College beginning at 2 p.m.
 
Next, the Eagles will move on to play Mississippi College in a lengthy contest to begin at 3 p.m. on October 12 at Frierson Field in Clinton. The final fall exhibition games will take place October 20 as the Hinds baseball team will play BRCC in a rematch at Joe G. Moss Field in Raymond with the games beginning at 2 p.m.
 
The Eagles will complete their fall season on October 24, 25, and 26 with an exciting three-game intrasquad series dubbed the "Fall World Series." The series will feature a three-day contest of two teams drafted by team captains. All three games of the series will take place at the Eagles' home venue, Joe G. Moss Field.
